The English Electric Lightning was designed in the late 1950's as an interceptor. This class of aircraft had to have great speed and even better climb speed to intercept the Russian bombers before they could reach their targets. The Lightning most certainly is fast and was in fact the first aircraft that could do supercruise, meaning it could fly supersonic without the use of afterburner.
The F3 version in this product is not an easy aircraft to fly. It’s complex and full of systems you have to manage without the aid of modern electronics. Landing especially is hard as the landing speed is awfully high and there are many things you have to check.
Aircraft of this type are rare for Flight Simulator and we feel the Lightning fills a niche that needed filling.
Product Info: While the casual player may assume that Flight Simulator X's helicopter simulation appears realistic, the truth is, it is far too stable and easy to fly. About Us: We are a DHT resource search engine based on the Torrents protocol, all the resources come from the DHT web crawler for 24 hours. All the data is generated automatically by the program. We do not store any resources and Torrents files, only to index the Torrents meta information and provide search services. Awards/Reviews:
The Aerosoft English Electric 'Lightning' F.3 is awarded an overall Mutley’s Hangar score of 9.7/10, with an 'Outstanding' and a Mutley's Hangar Gold Award.
Conclusion byMutleysHangar.com:
'In the last year or so, there have been some very impressive additions to the military side of FSX and P3D. The Aerosoft English Electric 'Lightning' F.3 is right up there with the best. It is a truly magnificent beast and captures the real world aircraft brilliantly. Yes, there are a few little niggles mentioned in this review, but these are mostly where the developer has perhaps tried to put in a little bit more for their customers and not added the depth to those extras in line with the main product. I guess some will like that side, personally I would like to have seen the product stay strictly on the F.3 topic and concentrate on the one version, or to provide more robust F.1A and F.2 variants in the package. If the latter was produced, then I would have been happy with a bigger price tag. Like the real world 'Lightning', this add-on is not for the faint hearted. It wouldn’t be very good if it was. If you are new to flight simulators, then make this product a goal. Fly something more forgiving first and work your way up to the 'Lightning' F.3, and when you are ready, then go and buy it. If you are an experienced virtual pilot, then lucky you, you are in for a treat!'

B-47E gets FMOD sounds
The FMOD Studio app can be used to create comprehensive sounds packages for XP11 models and this is what we're using for the B-47E. In addition to true 6-engine sounds, custom cockpit noises will be included, such as switch clicks, canopy, crew hatch and bomb bay door sounds, as well as additional wind roar when the undercarriage is extended.

Thanks to the excellent add-on 'FSX FlyInside', it's possible to fly in virtual reality using FSX Steam Edition. All Virtavia SE models have now been test-flown using FlyInside and the results were promising - many worked without any problems, some had minor cockpit size issues and a few need some serious attention. If you have a VR headset already and are considering purchasing Virtavia SE titles, or if you are just curious about VR and FSX, you can check the compatibility of Virtavia models on the new Steam Edition VR Compatibility page.Dec 23 :
Coming soon - B-47E Stratojet for X-Plane 11 !
The ever-popular Virtavia B-47E Stratojet has now been reworked for X-Plane 11 and will be released shortly. A new bump-mapped bare-metal effect has been applied which really brings out the classic lines of the famous Stratojet. The original model's cockpit has also been converted, screenshots will be posted very soon. The RATO function of the FSX version is not included, although it's possible this could be part of a future update. The conversion process is far from simple so we are not able to offer the model package as a free update, although the pricing is favourable at only US$19.95.

The Flightsim Store
After 6 months of non-payment of royalties and zero communication, Virtavia is resigned to the sad fact that the Flightsim Store is no longer a viable vendor to sell our models. As we are no longer receiving any payment at all for the models they sell, we must regretfully advise our customers that they should use other vendors to purchase Virtavia aircraft. Tech support will be provided to Flightsim Store customers only for those models bought before March 2018. The flightsim community should be aware that this vendor is now profiting illegally from small FS developers such as Virtavia.

Virtavia still here !
Apologies for the recent site downtime, this was due to a domain registration issue which has now been resolved. I also apologize for the appallingy long time (over a year !) since the last news entry. Please don't think nothing has been happening, far from it. Whilst it is true that no new FS aircraft have been developed since the XB-46 (March 2017), many new aircraft models have been and are still being created. These new creations (all US Navy) include rare beasts such as the P6M Seamaster, AM-1 Mauler, PB2Y Coronado, P4M Mercator, YF2Y-1 Sea Dart, XTB2D-1 Skypirate, as well as better-known USN stalwarts such as the S-2D Tracker, S-3A Viking, F2H Banshee, A-7E Corsair II, F9F-2 Panther, and there are many more in-build (EC-121, F-8E, F-4J, PBY, P-3, AF Guardian, XF10F-1 Jaguar, Bearcat, Tigercat, Buckeye and more). All these high-quality aircraft are being completed as exterior models only, as their purpose is not flight simulation - it is to populate a huge virtual-reality US Navy Air Museum. The concept will be explained fully and demonstrated on an all-new website which is presently being developed. In short, this new stand-alone software places the user in a large 3D domed building populated with 50-60 US Navy aircraft. The environment will contain dynamic aspects such as numerous animated human characters, interactive displays, ambient sounds etc. This amazing experience is primarily directed at users of VR equipment such as the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift although a version will be usable on a normal PC using the keyboard and mouse. This concept has been in development since 2012, it's hoped it will be released in the first half of 2019. More VR aircraft museums are planned for the future (USAF, RAF etc). The screengrabs below are of the present beta version, many more aircraft will be added as well as more static interior detailing and animated human figures. Some users may experience problems with the images below displaying correctly, if this happens please right-click on the thumbnails and select 'open link'.

Short Belfast re-released !
We've taken an old favourite, the AlphaSim Short Belfast and have re-processed the whole package for FSX and FSX Steam Edition. In addition to the updated and improved native FSX model, two new liveries have been added - those of Transmeridian Cargo Airlines and the later all-white Heavylift scheme. Announcing the Convair XB-46 !
Back in 1947, Consolidate Vultee's beautiful jet bomber was dropped in favour of Boeing's superior B-47 Stratojet. Although it was lacking in several important areas, the XB-46 was very advanced for its time and was undoubtedly one of the most sleek-looking airframes ever to take to the air. A detailed virtual cockpit will be added so you can experience this vintage bomber's asthetics in FSX and FSX SE. Coming early in 2017. Screenshots of the exterior can be viewed on the new XB-46 page.

Virtavia FSX Steam Edition models available now !All of the Virtavia collection is being re-presented for the new Steam Edition of FSX. Each model is now in two parts - the Main Package (ONE model, ONE variant), and a separate DLC Package, which contains the remainder of the original package (eg. additional variants and liveries). This means two things - firstly that new buyers get a Steam-specific installer (FSX SE has a different folder structure) and secondly that the model will be MUCH cheaper. As the main package is only a single variant (of course including the panel, sounds and other vital files), it can be sold at a considerably lower price. The additional variants are then completely optional. In most cases, the DLC (Down-Loadable Content) version will cost less than the Main Package, but in some cases it wil be more, such as the Virtavia A-4 Skyhawk, which has a great many variants. The current list of avaliable models can be seen on the new Steam Edition page, which is being updated constantly as we create and add new Steam Edition packages. So if you are a new user to FSX Steam Edition, now's the time to grab some amazing bargains from Virtavia !
NOTE - existing owners of these products do not have to re-purchase for FSX SE. Just e-mail us on the Support address and we'll get you a temporary link to the SE version of your aircraft. Proof of purchase must be provided.

The Lincoln User Manual can be downloaded here : Avro Lincoln User Manual (PDF). Version v1.1 of the Lincoln has been released to vendors and should be made available by them on Monday. The main changes in v1.1 are the addition of the manual, the missing cockpit piece on RF555 and a range of external viewpoints. Repainters please note the paint kit is now available in our Freeware area.Oct 30 :
The Lincoln User Manual was not included with version 1.0 - a new version V1.1 update will be released as soon as possible which will include the manual and some fixes and improvements suggested by users. Some users noted the lack of night red flood lighting in the cockpit. This is not possible due to a well-known FSX bug which prevents that feature when bump-mapping is used in a vc. This is the first vc we have used bump maps in and the effect is a great enhancement we think. The gauge lighting operates as normal, so it's a reasonable compromise given the enhanced visuals in daytime light.Oct 29 :

Both models share an identical cockpit, but there are great differences aft of the pilots, including a galley and bunk in the Bowloader. Please note, only the main panel instruments are 'live' - the large number of instruments depicted on the Engineer's and other crew panels are for obvious reasons graphical representations only. Those awaiting the B-29 should note that the Engineer's panel in that cockpit will be modelled and include working gauges, levers and switches.Jun 3 :
The R3Y Tradewind page now shows all the final exterior model screenshots ! All three variants can now been seen : the sleek R3Y-1 with the 'Cruiser' bow, the R3Y-2 'Bowloader' with the bulbous hinged nose and the later R3Y-2 version used as an aerial refeulling tanker, complete with extending fuel hoses. We have even set up the flight dynamics so that the R3Y-2 can be carefully 'beached' on a suitable shore, where the nose can then be raised and loading ramps extended.May 19 :

A new v1.2 installer is being sent to vendors if you would prefer to just have a new file. Note - v1.2 has no changes over v1.1, just a fixed installer.May 18 :
